On the weekend of the 13. and 14. December Icelandic Lamb has been at the Matarmarkaður – The Artisan Food Fayre, in the Harpa in Reykjavik. This year we did some showcooking. And this is one of our recipes:

Stefán Sölvi Pétursson, finalist in the World’s Strongest Man competition was cooking at Matarmarkaður on the weekend an Indian-style Curry with Icelandic lamb:
Ingredients:
- Lamb shoulder (At our showcooking we used a smoked Lambleg)
- Onion
- Garlic
- Fresh ginger
- Garam Masala spice mix
- Chili powder
- Turmeric powder
- Chopped tomatoes
- Sugar
- Cream
- Salt
- Meat stock (bouillon)
Instructions:
Chop and slice the onion, garlic, and ginger and fry them in a pan with the spices.
Add the tomatoes and let everything simmer for a few minutes together with the meat.
Add cooking cream and return everything to the pan or pot and let it simmer until the meat is tender. Season with salt and possibly stock.
Serve the dish more spicy by adding extra chili, depending on personal taste and enjoy.
